Our passion for veterinary recruitment is rooted in our own journeys within the industry, making us more than just a recruitment agency; we’re a team that truly gets it.
A Lifelong Passion for Equine and Large Animal Care
For Debbie, our Director, a deep love for animals, particularly horses, has been the foundation of her career. Growing up with ponies and horses instilled an early appreciation for their care and well-being, and her enthusiasm for cross-country and endurance riding only strengthened her connection with them. This passion led her to pursue an HND in Equine Studies at an agricultural college in Essex, where she gained hands-on experience across various equine disciplines. Working in polo yards, showjumping stables, and stud farms, both in the UK and internationally, gave her invaluable insights into the diverse roles within the equine industry.
Understanding the dedication required in equine veterinary medicine, she takes great pride in supporting veterinarians and veterinary nurses in finding fulfilling careers in this specialised field. Equine veterinary work is both challenging and rewarding, requiring a unique skill set, resilience, and a deep commitment to animal welfare. The opportunity to work outdoors, particularly through the changing seasons, adds an extra layer of fulfilment to this career path.
The Unique World of Large Animal Veterinary Practice
Having spent 13 years working in mixed veterinary practice, Emma, our Consultant has witnessed firsthand the dedication required to care for livestock and support the farmers who rely on them.
There’s something truly special about being a large animal vet or nurse. The bond you form with both the animals and the rural communities you serve is deeply rewarding. Whether it’s assisting with a midnight calving or ensuring an entire herd remains healthy for the next season, the impact of this work is both immediate and far-reaching. Large animal vets are not just treating animals; they are key players in sustaining the agricultural industry.
The variety of the role is another huge advantage—you never know what each day will bring. From complex surgeries to herd health management, large animal veterinary work keeps you constantly engaged and on your toes. And let’s not forget the incredible landscapes—working in the heart of the countryside is a privilege in itself.
