In the wake of their UK expansions, the demand for products has soared. This surge has paved the way for a dynamic sales professional to step in and catalyse growth within their retail accounts and explore new market frontiers.
The appointed Area Sales Manager for the North and the South West of the UK will be at the helm of managing both independent and key retail accounts within a specific geographic territory. The role entails nurturing long-standing relationships to propel sales and secure profitable, sustainable expansion. As a linchpin of the sales team, reporting to the National Sales Manager, your strategic input will be crucial in fostering current and prospective sales endeavours. You must live in the North of the UK or the South West to be eligible to apply.
Responsibilities include:
• Cultivating a pre-existing business base and devising a sales growth strategy aligned with annual targets.
• Day-to-day stewardship of a customer portfolio, including country stores and veterinary practices.
• Engaging with key stakeholders to ensure a steady flow of orders, introduction of new products, and uncovering fresh sales avenues.
• Actively seeking and securing new business through a robust prospect plan.
• Understanding the financial dynamics of each account, including turnover, opportunities, and risks.
• Managing all account-related administration to maintain accuracy and currency.
• Analysing sales data and reporting on KPIs to facilitate effective forecasting.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• A minimum of three years' experience as a Sales Representative, with a preference for those versed in agriculture, pet, or garden retail.
• A history of meeting ambitious sales targets through effective territory and customer relationship management.
• Exceptional communication skills, adept at fostering positive customer relations at various organisational levels.
• Proficiency in sales, negotiation, and presentation.
• A knack for researching and identifying new business prospects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational capabilities.
• Self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• IT proficiency.
