Are you a dedicated veterinary surgeon seeking a fulfilling role with the flexibility to work from home? This unique position offers the chance to provide essential out-of-hours (OOH) care while enjoying the comfort of your own home. Our client are a rapidly expanding practice currently based in London.. They are currently looking for compassionate and skilled vets to join their London team.
The role involves performing out-of-hours (OOH) home visits and handling a variety of emergency cases, which includes providing suture repairs and unblocking cats. Surgical cases are referred back to the client's own practice and/or their OOH service provider. The position comes with all necessary equipment, including a mobile ultrasound. Candidates must have a clean driving license and are required to use their own car, with mileage being reimbursed.
You will gain valuable experience with a variety of emergency cases and develop your skills further with on-the-job training and shadowing opportunities until you are confident working sole charge. You will be working within a friendly and diverse team, with access to Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) for backup and an on-call vet for additional support. Depending on your areas of interest there is also the potential in the future for you to lead teams and engage in non-clinical development.
The ideal candidate should have some previous experience, although confident new graduates will also be considered. They should be comfortable handling a wide range of emergency cases, even if they do not have specific experience in emergency and critical care (ECC) Due to the nature of the role surgical skills are not required but you would need to be confident in suturing wounds. Additionally, strong communication skills are essential for effectively liaising with clients and other veterinary professionals.
