Are you a veterinary surgeon with a passion for small animal care?
Do you have at least 2 years' post-qualification experience and an interest in imaging? Do you want to live and work by the sea?
Our client is an independent small animal veterinary practice located on the North Yorkshire coast. The practice has been established for over 30 years and the new owner took over last year. Refurbishments and equipment upgrades have already begun and she’s looking for an additional member of the team to join her rota so she can dedicate more time to further improvements.
The owner herself is the newest member of the team, with the others having been there for many years. This very low turnover is a testament to how happy the team are in their work and how well they get along with each other. The ethos of the practice is team work, with each of the 7 experienced vets and 3 nurses having their own interests and strengths and using these to the benefit of their clients and patients
.
There is also a focus for wellbeing. Everyone gets home on time and the practice shuts for an hour over lunch to ensure everyone gets the chance to unwind.
When you join the team, you will have access to a comprehensive range of in-house facilities including electrocardiography, hospitalisation, a brand new laboratory, operating theatre, radiography, ultrasound and acupuncture. The owner has plans to offer more than your average general practice, with RCVS accreditation the next thing on the list.
We are keen to speak with motivated, proactive veterinary surgeons interested in joining a practice at the start of this new journey. If you are confident in consultations, support can be offered in surgery. Other interests within the team are medicine and dentistry, so if you have an interest in imaging, this is the perfect opportunity to take over this caseload within the practice.
If you have a desire to become involved in practice management there will be scope for you to do that here, with the owner very open to ideas about how to take the practice forward.
This full-time role requires a working pattern of 4 weekdays (08:30 -6pm) and 1 in 5 Saturday mornings (9-12:30). Part time applicants are also welcome; just let us know the hours you’d like to work.
You will receive a salary of up to £50,000 and benefits including a £1500 CPD allowance. There is the potential of skilled worker visa sponsorship.
Located in North Yorkshire, England’s largest county and one of the most picturesque places to live, this clinic is surrounded by beautiful countryside and beaches. Direct trains to York and Leeds are also available, making it a convenient location. Millions of people flock to the area on holiday every year ( I have been one of them!), so come and see what you’re missing!
You must be eligible to register with the RCVS as a Veterinary Surgeon to be considered for this position.
