Are you a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a vibrant and supportive team? This small animal practice is now seeking a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to become an integral part of their close-knit family. This role promises not just a job, but a fulfilling career in a dynamic and friendly environment.
The team is the heart of the practice. Comprising three experienced vets, including two with surgical certificates and a recent 2023 graduate, alongside four exceptional RVNs, an experienced front-of-house team, and a diligent practice manager, the camaraderie here is palpable. The team enjoys bonding over Friday takeaway lunches and celebrating each other’s birthdays with homemade cakes, fostering a truly supportive and enjoyable workplace.
The surgery is well-equipped with an in-house lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound, mono/bipolar electrocautery, a tonopen, and a cryopen. Additionally, the practice offers complementary therapies such as acupuncture. The variety of cases ensures that no two days are the same, with a mix of consultations and surgeries. However, for those who prefer, a consulting-only role is also an option. The location offers convenience with nearby shopping and dining options, while also being a short drive from the picturesque Shropshire countryside and the bustling towns of Shrewsbury and Birmingham.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, ready to work 40 hours per week, though this is negotiable. The role includes 1:4 Saturdays (9am – 5pm) with no out-of-hours commitment. Flexible weekday hours are available, accommodating various working patterns, whether longer days or school hours.
They can offer a competitive salary of up to £60,000, depending on experience. The practice supports continuous professional development with funded courses and time off, encouraging further studies and certifications. Additional benefits include a contributory pension scheme, paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA), and exclusive company discounts and rewards.
If you are passionate about delivering outstanding pet healthcare and exceptional customer service, then we would love to hear from you. Join a team that values each member and strives for excellence in veterinary care.
