Our clients are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and supportive team in a full-time permanent position. The ideal candidate will have strong general nursing experience, excellent customer service skills, a friendly and flexible approach, and the ability to work well within a team.
The veterinary nurse plays a critical role in providing high standards of client and patient care. As a key member of the nursing team, the successful candidate will work a 40 hour week, including 1:4 Saturdays, with no on-call duties. You will work closely with the Head Nurse to foster team ethics and offer guidance and support to junior nursing staff. This position involves ensuring the smooth operation of all clinical areas and wards, with clear communication lines with all other teams to maintain outstanding patient and client care.
The practice currently has a team of six veterinary surgeons, two of whom hold certificates in surgery, allowing for a 60% surgical caseload for those with a surgical interest. The experienced nursing team consists of 11 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and nursing assistants, many of whom have been with the practice for years.
The practice boasts excellent facilities including three theatres, an imaging suite, a surgical suite, separate air-conditioned dog and cat wards with isolation, a brand-new ultrasound machine, new endoscopes, a dental suite, and an in-house laboratory.
The experienced and supportive nurse team contributes to a varied caseload and excellent patient care. They are actively encouraged and supported to complete additional certifications and offered genuine career progression and development opportunities for the future.
The practice takes pride in its cat-friendly status and is working towards the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF) award. They prioritise mental health and well-being through dedicated programs and support and are excited to be making a difference in the lives of small animals in the community.
