As a Veterinary Nurse, you will be a pivotal point of contact for clients, providing compassionate care and expert advice. Your role will encompass a variety of nursing duties, from monitoring in-patients and anaesthesia to assisting veterinary surgeons during procedures. You will also conduct consultations, both in person and over the phone, ensuring clients feel supported and informed.

CPD is highly encouraged, allowing you to expand your knowledge and skills. Additionally, you will be required to qualify as a ‘suitably qualified person’ for dispensing medicines, further broadening your expertise.

Key responsibilities include nursing and monitoring in-patients, assisting in the sale of non-prescription and POM-VPS goods (once qualified), and maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the premises. You will also handle general reception duties, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all clients.

To excel in this role, you should possess a professional manner and appearance, excellent telephone skills, and confidence in using computers and other IT equipment. Good animal handling skills and attention to detail are essential.

Candidates must hold a qualification registered with the RCVS as a ‘Registered Veterinary Nurse’.
