Role Overview:
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse you will be integral to the hospital's operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries
- Administering medications and treatments
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients
- Conducting laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
- Providing exceptional nursing care to our patients
- Educating clients on pet care and medications
- Maintaining accurate records and patient files
The rota averages 38 hours per week across a 10-week schedule, including varying shifts in wards, lab, and surgery. This includes 1 Saturday morning in 10, 1 full weekend in 10 followed by a 5-day weekend, and 1 Saturday night in 10 (plus covering night nurse holidays). Shift patterns range from 7am-4pm to 3.30pm-9.30pm. Nights only also available - 4 nights per week for 2 weeks then 4 weeks off.
What You Need:
- Current registration with the RCVS as a Veterinary Nurse
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassion and a genuine love for animals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work both day and night shifts on a rotating schedule
