Registered Veterinary Nurse - hospital day role

Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse seeking a fulfilling career in a bustling hospital environment? My client is excited is seeking a dedicated RVN to join our dynamic team at our 24-hour hospital in East Sussex.

The team are committed to providing the highest standard of care to their patients. This beautiful RCVS accredited practice boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a team of passionate professionals dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine. The purpose-built hospital is equipped with high-tech equipment and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. They offer dedicated cat, dog, exotic, isolation, and day procedure wards, supported by a fantastic nurse and support team.

The team includes multiple certificate holders and staff members with a wide range of clinical interests and expertise, including referral services for orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics. There is a fully staffed out-of-hours team alongside the day team, ensuring comprehensive care around the clock. They are deeply committed to the continuous development of the team members, offering ample learning and development opportunities through dedicated in-house and external CPD.

The role involves a varied caseload, with both emergency and advanced medical cases referred from neighbouring branches and local practices. This full-time position involves working four days a week, with a 1:8 weekend rota and a Monday off in lieu. The fully staffed in-house out-of-hours team ensures smooth handovers.

This role is perfect for a nurse who remains calm under pressure, enjoys being part of a close-knit team, and has a passion for animal welfare. Strong organisational and multitasking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a customer service-oriented approach are essential. Attention to detail and a commitment to ongoing professional development are also crucial.

The benefits are extensive, including a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, six weeks of holiday per year (including Bank Holidays), the option to buy and sell holiday, enhanced sick, maternity, and paternity pay, coverage of RCVS and VDS fees plus one other subscription, £600 towards CPD and three days leave, employee discounts, a pension scheme, among many other benefits.
