An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical interest to join a highly motivated, supportive independent practice. This role offers the chance to work with a team dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate care for both pets and their families.
The position involves a 4-day working week, including 2 operating days, with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota (9 am–12 pm). There are no Sunday, bank holiday, or out-of-hours requirements, supporting a healthy work-life balance. The role offers a starting salary of £50,000 (depending on experience) and includes a generous CPD allowance. Consultations are 20 minutes long to ensure thorough, personalised care for every patient.
Practice Overview
This independent practice is one of the few remaining in the area and is committed to providing heartfelt, personalised care to pet families. The practice is equipped with recently upgraded facilities, including advanced ultrasound, digital radiography (DR X-ray), multi-parameter monitors, syringe drivers, tonopen, and Phovia light therapy.They offer separate wards for dogs, cats, and rabbits
The team environment encourages collaboration and professional development, with structured breaks built into the schedule for admin tasks, lunch, and rest. A daily team catch-up ensures seamless communication and collective problem-solving.
The nursing team consists of five experienced RVNs with diverse specialisms, including diabetes management, behaviour, and weight management. Three ANAs ensure smooth day-to-day operations, while a dedicated reception team proactively manages client needs. The leadership team actively supports staff wellbeing and personal development.
The veterinary team comprises professionals with expertise in internal medicine, advanced surgery, behavioural medicine, ultrasound, and emergency care, alongside collaborations with visiting orthopaedic specialists.
