Embark on a fulfilling journey with our client’s prestigious veterinary practice with over a century of dedication to excellence in animal care. Located in the heart of Cambridgeshire, the practice is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to become an integral part of their compassionate and skilled team. This is a chance to contribute to work within a supportive environment that places an equally high value on work-life balance and professional growth.
The practice itself boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a newly unveiled wing with advanced operating theatres and a serene cat ward. The practice is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic tools such as digital radiography, ultrasound with cardiac probe and doppler, video-endoscopy, and multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring. They also have a bespoke rehabilitation centre on site featuring hydrotherapy and K-Laser, which is managed by adept physiotherapists, enhancing the comprehensive care provided.
The role offers a four-day workweek working nine-hour shifts, ensuring ample time for personal pursuits. Weekends are shared equally, with a 1 in 4 rotation, and the absence of out-of-hours duties underscores the commitment to a balanced lifestyle. Part-time arrangements are also open for discussion, catering to diverse needs.
Candidates will find themselves among a team where certificates in medicine, surgery, cardiology, dermatology, and diagnostic imaging are prevalent, with advanced practitioners leading the way. This role offers a mix of consulting and surgical cases, however while surgical caseloads align with general practice levels due to the existing surgical expertise within the team there is not a high percentage of surgical cases available day to day. The practice is however eager to discuss and will accommodate specific interests where possible.
Applicants should bring a minimum of two years' experience to the role, demonstrating a passion for veterinary medicine and a collaborative spirit. In return, the practice team offers a supportive environment for continued professional development, including CPD and certificate studies.
The practice team is not just a workforce but a family, with many long-standing members. The practice values wellbeing and enjoys community engagement through local events and charity fundraisers. Social gatherings, from summer festivities to the renowned Christmas party, are a testament to the vibrant culture cultivated within.
Benefits:
• Annual salary of £40,000 to £65,000 depending on experience
