Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon looking for a role in a progressive practice? Or are you recently graduated and looking to develop your skills with the support of an experienced and encouraging team? Either way, this role offers an exciting opportunity for you to grow individually and as a team while enjoying a fantastic work/life balance!
This RCVS accredited practice has over 120 years of experience treating and caring for the local animals and over the years they have continued to grow and develop and are currently looking for someone to join their team to boost the number of vets in practice from 9 to 10 (potentially 11).
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic vet to join their supportive and progressive team on a full or part time basis. They cover their own out of hours so you will work 2weeks in 10 on call, with no day shifts during those weeks and 1 full day and night off during those weeks, to break up the on call. You will also be part of a weekend rota, which works on a 2-week rotation where you work either Saturday morning doing consults, then on call through to Sunday morning, or Saturday morning doing consults, then off until Sunday morning, where you take over the on call shift until Monday morning.
The practice itself offers state of the art equipment including digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy/bronchoscopy, tonometer, slit lamp, diathermy, cutting-edge anaesthetic monitors and orthopaedic kit. They are also undergoing some improvements to help increase the services offered to their clients and are currently waiting for a new ultrasound, as two of their current vets have a passion for cardiology.
Our clients have a strong focus on teamwork and wellbeing and are always receptive to ideas and requests from the team for new equipment or training. They have created a supportive environment where they encourage everyone to follow their individual passions and interests, through CPD and further certificates. This attitude and the environment it created was part of the reason the practice first starting using laparoscopy 5 years ago and why they currently perform 75% of their spays laparoscopically.
On top of this, the practice is located in stunning Cornwall and offers the perfect base to explore the region from. There are fantastic local amenities, history and architecture to enjoy in your free time, not to mention the incredible Cornish Coastline which is just a stone through away! You will also be introduced to some of the better hidden gems of the area on team outings, which happen regularly throughout the year.
Benefits:
Salary of £33,000 to £60,000 depending on experience
Generous 6.8 weeks holiday including bank holidays
CPD allowance of £1750, with certificates supported and funded
Professional membership fees paid
Visas sponsored
Cycle to work scheme
Company pension
