Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon looking to join a supportive and established team? This small animal clinic based across Hertfordshire and Middlesex is seeking an additional veterinary surgeon to enhance their dedicated team. Located in the picturesque northwest Greater London region, they offers a unique blend of suburban tranquillity with direct train links to central London.

This practice has been a cornerstone of the local community for over 40 years, with four closely located practices. The team is committed to providing exceptional care and ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. As part of the Practice Standards Scheme and a training practice for Veterinary Nurses, they are dedicated to continuous improvement and professional development.

The role offers the chance to work alongside a highly experienced nurse team in a high-end first opinion group, with a large proportion of insured clients. The practices are well-equipped with digital x-rays, dental x-rays, and ultrasound machines with colour flow Doppler. Additionally they work closely with the local Cat’s Protection Centre in Harrow, further enriching the professional experience.

The ideal candidate will ideally be at least three years qualified, confident in handling 15-minute appointments, and proficient in performing routine consultations and procedures. A willingness to learn and actively develop skills is highly encouraged and supported.

The full-time rota consists of a 40-hour (4-day) week, with 1 in 6 weekends and an additional 6 Saturdays throughout the year. There is no on-call duty, but an inpatient rota requires providing backup to the nurse for evening checks. Part-time applicants are also welcome and will contribute to the weekend rota.

Salary package on offer is up to £70,000 per annum DOE

Benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and birthday off (pro-rata for part-time), no out-of-hours, RCVS and VDS fees paid, funded external CPD, extensive free online CPD programs, career progression opportunities, staff discount schemes, enhanced sickness pay, and enhanced equal family leave. The wellness program includes an employee assistance program, eyecare voucher scheme, free annual flu jab and the cycle to work scheme. They are committed to supporting the physical and mental health of all associates, with a team of Mental Health First Aiders and a confidential Employee Assistance Programme available. Visa sponsorship provided.
