Embark on a fulfilling journey as a Veterinary Surgeon specialising in Exotics and Small Mammals in a picturesque city in Devon. The practice is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance their existing service, offering comprehensive care to a diverse range of animals, including first opinion and referral clients, as well as 3 local wildlife collections.

This role is not just a job but a chance to flourish in a supportive environment that values both client and patient care. The successful candidate will be integral in expanding the exotic and small mammal service, working alongside a team of skilled small animal vets. The practice boasts a modern hospital with exceptional facilities, including an exotic ward, new surgical and imaging facilities, and a recently installed CT scanner.

Our clients are an RCVS-accredited, 4-branch practice, renowned for setting the benchmark in first opinion work within the region. With one branch currently holding Gold Standard RWAF practice status and 2 other branches having already achieved Silver Level accreditation as Cat-Friendly Clinics by the International Society of Feline Medicine.

The practice is committed to fostering a culture of care for its staff, with a strong emphasis on a healthy work-life balance. The role includes a manageable 38-hour week, shared weekend rota (1in10 full weekends) and support for further study, including certificates. On-call duties are outsourced, with a rota for inpatient care as required.

Candidates should be confident, proactive, compassionate, and caring, with a friendly demeanour. Both full-time and part-time applications are welcome. Experience in the field is essential, and those holding or working towards a certificate in the specialism will find this role particularly rewarding.
