Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon looking for a fulfilling role with an exciting and varied small animal and exotics caseload? We have a fantastic opportunity for you!

Our clients are a family run, independent small animal and exotics practice, with state of the art, purpose-built facilities in stunning Norfolk.  They are currently working towards RCVS hospital status and boast refreshing air conditioning throughout the practice, separate cat and dog waiting areas and wards, onsite CT scanner, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound with cardiac capabilities, video gastroscope, bronchoscope, laryngoscope, rigid scope, multi parameter monitors and laser therapy.

On top of this, they have a luxury pet hotel for pets with long term medical conditions onsite where clients can board their pets stress free when they go on holiday and rest assured that they are getting the best care possible.  They are also a multi award-winning practice, currently holding ISFM Gold Feline Friendly accreditation, RWAF Gold Rabbit Friendly status and Dog Friendly accreditation and are looking for a passionate and energetic veterinary surgeon to join their incredible team.

The role itself is full time, permanent working 4 day weeks, with your days off planned to allow long weekends and maximum time off and 1 in 4 weekends, with Friday afternoon and the following Monday off in lieu.  There are currently 3 shifts that you will work on rotation, ops shift (morning consults then operating afternoon), consult shift (no ops) and long ops shift (no consults).  With that said our clients is open to discussing part time options and consult only roles for the right candidate so please do get in touch if you have any questions or would like to learn more.

Ideally candidates will have a minimum of 2 years UK experience in practice, be passionate about their work and forming bonds with clients and patients, while always providing the best possible care.

The role offers a varied and interesting caseload of roughly 70% small animal and 30% exotics cases (5% of which is zoo work).  This offers a fantastic opportunity to expand your knowledge in exotics cases with experienced colleagues on hand to support you and discuss cases day to day.

You will be joining a fantastic clinical team of 6 days vets, 4 night vets, 7 RVN’s and 2 SVN’s all supported by 2 great receptionists, an administrative manager and practice manager.  Having a dedicated night vet team allows the day vets to leave on time in the evenings and assures continuity of care for the patients as everything stays in house.

The practice itself is surrounded by picturesque countryside with stunning east coast and Broads National Park just 20 minutes away, offering lots to do and see in your free time.  There is a train station just 2 minutes walk from the front door, which offers an easy commute to Norwich in just 20 minutes and there is onsite parking for those who drive.

Benefits:

  • Salary of £40,000 to £70,000 Depending on experience

  • Annual holiday entitlement of five weeks, plus bank holidays, with an increase to six weeks plus bank holidays after the first year

  • CPD actively encouraged and certificates supported and funded, including additional days off
